*Yesterday George Osborne, the UK chancellor delivered his
budget, and the last one before the May 7th General
election. Here is Finsbury’s summary of the key financial
points arising from his statement.*

I speak to many clients day to day who have existing
investments. Often in the EEA or international market they
are investing with one of the major insurance linked
platforms such as Generali International (or Generali Pan
Europe), RL360 (previously Royal London 360), Skandia (or
Royal Skandia or Skandia International) and/or Friends
Provident (or Friends Provident International). They may
also hold these kind of platforms through their QROPS or
SIPP pension investments.

The obvious benefits of QROPS[about:blank] are well marketed
and well tested, but there is often a question mark raised
over whether it is truly the correct option for those who
are simply not able to say for certain that they will never
return to the UK. Largely the tax advantages are considered
to be lost upon repatriation.
